Abbots Way Walk 2024
Well done to the Year 9 pupils who took part in the Abbots Way Walk on 6th October. Everyone in this group had already taken part in the two day 25 mile challenge in June, and this was a step up in terms of challenge: around 25 miles in one day, all the way from the east side of the moor to the west, and in much worse weather.
We're not aware of any other group of 13 year-olds who have completed this annual challenge entirely unaccompanied by adults, self-navigating across some of the bleakest parts of Dartmoor, and the children were deservedly proud of what they achieved.
The Year 9s will start their 35 mile Ten Tors training later this month, and on the basis of their performance in this challenge, we're expecting great things from them this year
